Nick was marching down the halls in a slow, sluggish manner. He was tired and it wasn't even the afternoon classes yet. He yawned and ran a hand messily though his hair and fixed his probably miss-buttoned shirt. Ah, who cared. He'll fix it when he was more awake. But definately not now. Boy, did he need some sort of pick me up...coffee sounded good.
The teen yawned again, this time behind a hand and pressed his free hand to the doors. He gently pushed the doors open, nearly tripping on his own feet as he did so and entered the somewhat empty Grand Hall/Cafeteria. He was rather half-asleep and made his way towards a table, he didn't seem to notice which table and slid into an empty seat. Maybe if he was more awake, he would notice the strange stares and the looks as he reached for food and drink...at the Luminosity table.
After sending some food down his throat, followed by scalding coffee, Nick sighed happily. Now he was awake. He blinked for a moment when he didn't see the ever familiar banner of his house above the table and he looked around. The Luminosity table?! Nick contemplated for a moment. Did he want to leave and head off to his own table or did he just not give a damn?
Hm...yeah. He just didn't give a damn. And Nick reached over to grab some toast and some eggs.

It had been a slow morning for Emily. Waking up to two of her dorm mates screaming at each other over some hair clip or something had put her on edge, a mood she didn't particularly like to be in. She sat up and glared at the two girls, her voice low as she promised they wouldn't need a hair clip after she hexed their hair off. Now Emily didn't get mad often, but when you did get to her, her anger was dark and furious. And she meant every word. The girls looked at each other and then back and the narrow eyed Emily and decided to cut their losses and leave. A quick glance over their shoulder had then scurrying out as Emily pointed her wand at them.
Alone in the dorm, Emily sighed heavily, knowing she wasn't going to be able to get the last couple of minutes of sleep that she wanted, and she grabbed her toiletry bag, heading off the the Luminosity girls' bathroom. It only took her maybe a half an hour to get in and out of the shower and dressed, and to run back to her dorm to grab her things for school. She had hoped that a warm shower and the soothing smell of her shampoo would calm her and dispel her bad mood, but it persisted, promising a long day ahead.
The dinning hall was mostly empty, the other students probably of doing who knows what, and Emily was glad for it. She thumped her books on the seat next to her and didn't care that people were scooting away from her. The Luminosity house knew of Emily's dark anger and knew to shy away from her when she was like that.
She grabbed a mug near her, pouring herself a cup of coffee and helped herself to the heaping plates of eggs and bacon. She had been sitting there for all of about 5 minutes when another student dropped himself into the seat across and to the left of her, his rumpled appearance that of one who wasn't really a morning person. She leaned toward him a bit, studying his face, wondering why he looked so familiar. Then it his her. Her eyes widened slowly and a small gasp escaped her lips. The Demmurral from the forest, the one who had escaped her body binding curse without speaking the spell out loud. She stared at him as he glanced around, seeming to know he was at the wrong table and shrugging like he didn't care. He reached of the plate of eggs after pouring himself a cup of coffee and she said, "You! What are you doing here?!"

"You! What are you doing here?!"[/i] Cam blinked when the loud shout/screech/voice reached his ears. The teen turned, blinking again trying to locate the voice. It came from the Luminosity table? Odd, he never really remembered the brainiacs being that loud. This will be interesting. He craned his neck towards then a little more and noticed the girl screeching/shouting. Wasn't that Emily? A girl in his year. Curious, Cam stood, not realizing he was taking his plate with him and walked towards the other table.
"Whatcha yellin' for Em?" Cam asked, sliding into the seat across from her and next to the person she was yelling at. "S'not like he's hurting anything," Cam smiled slightly and nudged the person. "Right?" It took him a moment before he recognized the bird's nest-like hair and the rumpled clothing that and the tie and the eating habits. Cam looked almost amused. This will prove to be rather interesting. "Nick? Whatcha doing here? And wha'd you do to Em?"

Nick blinked when a loud voice reached his ears. He looked up, a forkful of eggs pausing on their way to his mouth. He tilted his head some and looked at the pretty blond girl. Hm...she looked familiar. Where had he seen her before. Aha! The girl from the forest! The one who body-binded him! Nick bit into his food, watching and wondering what he was going to do. He was saved, for the most part, when an all familar voice fluttered over.
"Whatcha yellin' for Em? S'not like he's hurting anything, Right?" Nick turned his head and blinked again, this time at his best friend next to Ehren, Ehren's lil' brother, Cam. He smiled in greeting, swallowing and washing the eggs down with his coffee. "Nick? Whatcha doing here? And wha'd you do to Em?"
"Exactly, whatcha yelling for blondie?" Nick answered. "It's too early for all that," He turned to Cam. "Morn' bud. I'm here cause I'm not a morning person, sat at the wrong table and decided not to move cause I'm lazy like that. And as for lil' missy here, honestly, I don't think I did anything to her. She was in the way,"
Nick moved his food around his plate and smirked slightly at her. "Still mad 'bout those water balloons? Hey you weren't supposed to be there. They were supposed to hit Ren' only anyways. You were just kind of in the way,"

"Whatcha yellin' for Em? S'not like he's hurting anything, Right?"
"Nick? Whatcha doing here? And wha'd you do to Em?"
That came from Cam Wong, a boy in her year, but in Bravura house. He was nice enough, though they had never really talked outside of the few classes they shared. He looked familiar and it clicked that he must be Ehren's younger brother. They looked alike and seemed to have some the same personality traits. He had slid into the seat next to the Demmurral student, smiling like they were buddies. Another thing they seemed to have in common, bring friends with this kid She open her mouth the say exactly what he did to her, when the the other boy spoke.
"Exactly, whatcha yelling for blondie?" "It's too early for all that,"]/b] He ignored Emily's glare and turned to Cam, confirming to her that they were friends. Morn' bud. I'm here cause I'm not a morning person, sat at the wrong table and decided not to move cause I'm lazy like that. And as for lil' missy here, honestly, I don't think I did anything to her. She was in the way,"
Emily glared. "In the way?! I was standing next to Ehren! You could hav--!" He interrupted her as he spoke again. "Still mad 'bout those water balloons? Hey you weren't supposed to be there. They were supposed to hit Ren' only anyways. You were just kind of in the way,"
She just stared at him, her eyes disbelieving. Did he really just ask that? "Am I still mad about the water balloons? Am I still mad? What do you think?" Unbelievable. The day hadn't even started yet and she already wanted to kill someone. And she didn't even know his name. She threw her hands up in a exasperated gesture. "I don't even know your name." And as quickly as her anger had come, it was gone, leaving her in a even darker mood. She grabbed her cup of coffee and took a long drink, not caring that it scalded her tongue.

"Yes, yes you are lazy like that." Cam laughed softly as the two bantered. Looks like there's some long and unwanted history between them. He figured that if he was in a cartoon, he'd have that little funky sweatdrop deal at his head as he listened. Water Balloons? How come he didn't get this earlier? Total blackmail material! ...For Ehren at least.
Cam hadn't been aware of speaking aloud until his own voice rang in his ears, "...blackmail material. For Ehren at Least," he blinked. Then smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, Em." His mind flickered as he thought over the mentioned situation. Why did it sound familar? And he thought back to his brother and a converstation they had once, a while ago. It involved water balloons, a blonde girl, and Nick. Aha! Now he remebered. "You've met my brother! You're the girl who Nick ended up drenching along with Ehren!"
Whoops. Way to go. Insert foot into mouth. That wasn't how that was supposed to go. "Er..." Cam looked down at his plate, looking a little sheepish.

Nick nodded as Cam awknowledged his laziness before he turned to Emily. Hm...she looked ticked. Kind of like she was going to kill him. All he had done was ask a question. He didn't think it was that bad. Besides, that day Ehren dried her off and sent her a warming charm anyways. And she got to body-bind him and he was attacked by flocks of birds too. Nick frowned faintly, running his finger across a still healing peck mark below the fringe/bangs of his hair. At least they were physically fine. Little wet, but fine nonetheless.
"Am I still mad about the water balloons? Am I still mad? What do you think? I don't even know your name."[/i]
"It's Nicholas," Nick interjected sharply. "Nick Richards." He looked up at her, slightly scowling. His slight temper fled when he heard Cam mention blackmail and the situation again. He laughed softly, leaning back and taking a long drink of his coffee. "Blackmail 'Ren? Great Idea Cam. And don't look so stony girlie, You're physically fine aren't you? Now and then? A lil' wet then but still, you were fine weren't you?"

"...blackmail material. For Ehren at Least,"
Emily heard Cam mutter, planning something. She raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. She turned back to the boy -Nick now- and scowled. He agreed with Cam about blackmailing Ehren and turned back to her. "Blackmail 'Ren? Great Idea Cam. And don't look so stony girlie, You're physically fine aren't you? Now and then? A lil' wet then but still, you were fine weren't you?" She smirked when he fingered one of the cuts from Ehren's birds. But said, "My name happens to be Emily, not girlie, Nick." Now somewhere in the back of her mind, Emily knew that she shouldn't be taking her anger out on Nick, it was just a harmless joke and she had actually laughed about it later on, but she was in such a foul mood, she didn't care. Though it would probably come back to bite her in the a$$ later on. She took a bite of her toast, casting her eyes down. I really need to work on this anger thing... She thought to herself, pushing aside the dark thoughts. She finished chewing and swallowed before she spoke again.
"And I may have been fine, but it doesn't mean I enjoyed it. You dumped a bunch of water on me. I have a right to be angry." She nodded as if to reinforce her point.

Cam watched was the two bantered some more. He had been wondering what had caused the healing scratches on Nick's face and arms but now he figured that it was because of the water balloon incident with Emily and Ehren. This morning was turning out pretty interesting for him. He came over because of a screeching voice, earned blackmail material for his brother, learned that Emily and Nick will most likely never get along because of water balloons. He summoned a cup to him, watching in slight amusement as it filled with hot chocolate. He loved the house elves. As opposed to other people, he wasn't a coffee person. He was more of a hot tea/hot chocolate person.
"So you are the person who met my brother," said Cam after a sip of chocolate. "And Nick, I'm taking her side on this one. If you drenched me, I don't think you'll get away with light scratches bud. Em's got rights to be angry at you." Actually, in terms of this converstation, Cam felt rather left out. They were both so ticked at each other that they seemed to forget that he was there. Oh well, he wanted to eat anyways. And Cam piled food onto his plate; ranging from eggs to toast to bacon to pieces of fresh fruit.
Cam smiled and stabbed his fork (swiped from the plate next to him) into some fruit before eagerly digging into the food. After a few bites, he blinked and wondered where the extra plate of food came from. Why did that look like the piece of toast he had been eating..oh. It is the piece of toast he had been eating. He grinned to himself, figuring that he had brought his plate with him. Shrugging, Cam just continued eating. He liked to eat anyway.

"Okay, then Emily," Nick answered. He picked at his food as hlistened, hearing her words as he moved his food around. She seemed to be rather ticked. Didn't seem to be her style...not that he would know. After all, he actually didn't know the girl besides that bit in the woods. She was very pretty though, reminded him a little bit of a girl in his year, a dissemblence girl. Jessica Walker. He turned his head as Cam spoke, piling food onto his plate. Nick blinked as the younger teen piled various foods onto his plate. Did he not notice the plate that he brought with him?
"And Nick, I'm taking her side on this one. If you drenched me, I don't think you'll get away with light scratches bud. Em's got rights to be angry at you." Nick snorted slightly and grinned at the younger teen. "Never could disagree with a pretty face could ya?" Nick figured that he shouldn't poke fun at the younger teen, but this was fun. Nick was pretty sure that he choked on something. Well, this also poked fun at Emily some but it wasn't like he was on really good terms with the girl but oh well. This was going to earn him some hexes. "And Cam, got enough food? You can't eat all that can you?"

"And Nick, I'm taking her side on this one. If you drenched me, I don't think you'll get away with light scratches bud. Em's got rights to be angry at you."
Emily smiled some as Cam sided with her. "Thanks Cam." But as it was, being angry was starting to tire her, so father than verbally lash Nick some more, she opted for silence and took another sip of her coffee. She picked up her fork, taking a bite of her eggs, not surprised they were still hot. She didn't expect anything less from something in a school of magic.
She swallowed and looked back at Cam and Nick. Currently Cam was piling food on a second plate, seeming to have forgotten the plate he had brought over with him and Nick was commenting on it and Cam declaration of taking her side, "Never could disagree with a pretty face could ya?" Emily raised an eyebrow at this remark. Flattering, if it had come from someone else, but coming from Nick, he was probably poking at her.
"And Cam, got enough food? You can't eat all that can you?" Emily laughed at that remark, know it was true. Cam did have a lot of food on his plate. She looked over at him and said in a teasing voice, "Wow Cam. I looks like you've got enough food to feed two of you."

"Never could disagree with a pretty face could ya?"
OF all things for Nick to say, Cam wasn't expecting that one. He blinked rapidly and choked on his cocoa, wincing faintly as the hot liquid went down the wrong pipe. He swallowed forcefully and looked at his friend. Judging by the expression on his face, Cam decided that this was a way for him to poke fun at the two of them. He summoned a napkin and wiped his lips off before drumming his fingers on the table and looking at Emily. He had to admit, the girl was really pretty. Shrugging, Cam grinned.
"Nah," he answered. "Never could Disagree with a Pretty Face,"
The teen grinned some more and looked down at his plate, trying to ignore the slight flush rising to his cheeks. He blinked when both Emily and Nick commented on his food and he looked down at his plate...then at the one next to him. He shrugged again, lightly tapping his fork on the plates. "Yeah, probably got enough and this would definately feed two of me...or just one Nick," If anything, Nick started it.

Nick grinned when Cam threw the comment back at him. He'd admit that he was a big eater. Not to the extent of finishing Cam's two plates, but enough to allow him not to eat for a while, a good 4 hours or so. He looked between Cam and Emily, a devious plot taking shape in his mind. To put the two of them together, that would be so much fun. Even though Emily was a little bit rude, that seemed like the word but not quiet. Spontaneous? No, not that either. Finally, Nick just settled with she was just Emily.
